Sam's Take:
At first I was sceptical of the 500-e but it has changed my mind for numorous reasons. Why was I sceptical? I (Sam) am a huge fan of Italian engineering in fact I own what is considered to be one of the best Italian engines ever built, the 2.5l busso v6 in my 86 GTV 6. Being this huge fan I was questioning the electric motor in an Italian car and I think thats what a lot of people get wrong about the 500-e and forget its parental figure the 500. Although the previous car could go hundreds of miles it is not the particular car you would do that with or if you did, you better be good at packing. In a past time after the war Italy was in need of an affordable, compact city car that met practicality mixed with an economical car. That is exactly what the 500-e is and always has been. Although it has a "small" battery the 500 was never meant to be a cross country titan or a back roads maniac it was for the people and pretty much pays its self off, if your not driving hundreds of miles a day. Why should you listen to what I have to say? Look I am not trying to sell you a car. what I'm trying to do is sell the factual evidence that you don't need a lot to just drive to work every day, especially when you are paying 80$ + or - a tank.
What makes this 500e so special? This particular 500e is Giorgio Armanis luxury take and design on this very quirky car. The Giorgio Armani Collectors Edition is quite the special edition. This specific car is finished in a breath taking "Ceramic Greige" and is a combination of white and beige that creates a really nice pearly colour. The Armani edition is quite impressive and features faux leather seats with custom stitching, embroidered headrest, and a beautifully laser cut wooden dash with an unpolished metal look surrounding It with Giogio Armani's signature. Armani wanted to make every Armani edition come standard with JBL audio system with preset experiences like "Verdi Opera House" just incase you forgot your driving an Armani. In my opinion The Armani edition is our first look at a modern EV classic. "It is that pretty". whether you're wanting to be seen or not you will not go unnoticed in this 500e Armani.
In conclusion the 500e was already a great car and the Armani touch elevates the experience of this unique full of personality car. Fiat has managed to give this car even more personality with taste and I'm here for it.
